Our Enterprise Architecture Office is seeking a seasoned Applications Architect to work on the latest hardware, software and cloud computing platforms. The application architect will aid in selecting of technologies and solutions, work closely development and provide support to building on a variety of different foundational architectures in a heterogeneous environment.

Responsibilities:
Member of several project and virtual teams to deliver guidance and key architecture artifacts.
Create solution architecture descriptions and models that will be used by the development organization as the basis for their overall solution design.
Facilitate and drive architecture trade-off analysis on architecturally significant decisions.
Partner with the software development organization to identify risks, improvements and key opportunities to optimize the solutions framework in support of business initiatives so that agreed upon service levels for timely, accurate, and efficient information systems solutions are met.
Drive technical design and architecture with the software development organization.
Present solution designs to governing bodies for validation and approval.
Aid in the maturity and evolution of the IV architecture capability maturity.
Contribute to the IV standards library that will be used for decision making on all new and existing solutions.
Develop specific architectural best practices that will guide technology decisions that are consistent with the strategic objectives of IV.
Acquire the necessary technical and business knowledge and perform technology and product research and evaluation to support LOB operations and software developments needs.
Collaborates extensively throughout the firm to ensure integration of business processes and applications (new and legacy).
Work with third party vendors and IV to develop and/or integrate their applications into company products to ensure that applications are in accordance with company product standards and guidelines.
Evaluates new trends, technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the IV’s internal products.

Possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills to create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and translate what is being asked into core underlying requirements.
Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to capture and document requirements and specifications thoroughly and clearly.
Advanced demonstrated experience with object oriented design and development techniques using Microsoft technologies.
Comprehension and application of advanced architecture styles such as:
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Composite Style Architecture
Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
Demonstrated expertise in a variety of application development technology concepts, practices, and procedures.
Comprehensive knowledge architecture modeling. Experience with one or more of the following a plus:
Architmate
Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Business Process Modeling (BPM)
Demonstrated use of .NET application development technologies as well as a solid understanding and practical use of specific Microsoft development technologies such as: SharePoint, BizTalk, C#, ASP.NET, XML, SQL Server, Silverlight, WCF, WF and WPF.
Expertise in large scale enterprise architecture such as CRM, ERP or outsourced hosted solutions.
10 years software product development experience including at least 5 years as a software/application/solutions architect in the definition and implementation of software/application architectures
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science; Master’s degree desirable.
