    Brief Description of the Organization

     

    The Global Function units at Citi include Audit & Risk Review, Compliance Control, AML, Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS), Finance, Strategy, M&A, Investor Relations, Global Public Affairs, Human Resources, Legal, and Risk Management. These functions provide critical support to the Citi business units. Citi, the leading global financial services company, has some 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 100 countries, providing consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, and private banking.

     

    Description Director, AML Risk Management Metrics & Analytics will be responsible for leading continuous improvement of the AML Risk Management function, proactively assessing metrics related to all AML activities, identifying root causes/key trends, and recommending improvements as needed. In addition, the Director will be tasked with increasing operational efficiencies through optimization of metrics reporting. Responsibilities:

    • Analyze AML metrics from a variety of sources to identify key risk indicators (KRI's) and root causes of AML risk
    • Perform Citi's AML risk assessments based on evaluation of controls in place to mitigate risk
    • Design and drive implementation of risk-based AML dashboards to depict trends and issues
    • Work closely with AML Process owners (eg, operations, technology and businesses) to:
      • Obtain key metrics
      • Identify patterns or trends
      • Recommend improvements and policy changes as needed
    • Track the implementation of all proposed improvement solutions and processes, including remediation plans
    • Escalate issues and risks to AML management
    • Drive consolidation and simplification of AML metrics
    • Provide intelligence reports and analysis to management to drive strategic initiatives
    • Facilitate production of on-demand risk reporting by identifying technology requirements
    • Gather and implement AML metrics requirements from regulatory and senior management sources

    Qualifications 

    • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Finance, Business, Economics or Statistics/Mathematics is required (MBA or Master's is preferred)
    • 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in a risk management function
    • Must possess the technical know-how, commercial awareness and analytical skills coupled with an understanding of risk/reward dynamics
    • Demonstrated ability to uncover root causes and key risk trends from a wide variety of data sources and create detailed actions list to improve AML risk management function and operational efficiencies
    • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of-and anticipate-important activities and trends that could potentially lead and shape Citi's AML risk management response
    • Detailed knowledge of AML risk management, including regulated practices
    • Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization and develop partnerships with multiple business and functional areas
    • Ability to encourage and model collaboration in working with internal and external constituencies
    • Ability to guide team to communicate highly technical risk management information to senior management and non-technical audiences
    • Outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills, including ability to build a broad base of support among key decision makers and stakeholders
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Demonstrated ability to work across multi-business and functional lines within organizations
    • Proven execution skills of managing a work effort from conceptual idea through completion
