    Description The GFTS Data Management and Strategy group is actively recruiting for 1 Senior Data Architect, with broad and deep understanding of challenges with data management in large enterprises, demonstrated architecture, design and delivery experience in the full lifecycle of data (sourcing from multiple source systems using ETL, defining data quality KPIs, constructing and implementing data quality rules, logical and physical data modeling, loading into data warehouse, building reporting data marts and constructing BI reports). Prior experience with multiple data toolsets (Ab Initio, Informatica, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Cognos, and Business Objects) is required. Prior experience in Financial Services, preferably in one of the following areas: Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Regulatory Reporting, Finance) is preferred. The position will be based in the NY Metro area, at the Warren, NJ or 111 Wall Street location.

     

    • The Sr. Data Architect will be responsible for all data architecture activities, for a large portfolio of GFTS applications (Enterprise Risk, Compliance or Finance) • The Sr. Data Architect will need to recruit and build out a team of Data Architects to support the initiatives in their portfolio. The team will be primarily sourced from Right Shore vendor partners, and will include a mix of onshore and offshore resources. • The Sr. Data Architect will partner with other GFTS Architecture teams (Portfolio, Technical, Business), to coordinate the data architecture design for GFTS portfolio projects including peer reviews and support architecture process activities, architecture impact analysis, review with Architecture Shared Services committee, review of Application Architect governance activities, permit issuance

     

    • The Sr. Data architect will support the Portfolio Architect in managing the data components of the GFTS application portfolio, and contribute to the application portfolio strategy, roadmap development and support special data architecture requests • The Sr. Data architect and team will provide an integrated engagement model for services and deliverables from the Data Management & Strategy group (data modeling, ETL delivery, BI delivery, Sybase IQ delivery) • The Sr. Data Architect will ensure the adherence of projects and initiatives to the data roadmaps, design data architecture and solutions to address data challenges of the initiatives, identify shared data sources, components and services that will be applicable and leveragable by multiple initiatives • The Sr. Data Architect will Identify consolidation and retirement opportunities for data sources, define a migration strategy for applications towards the target state

    Qualifications • Master's degree in computer science, math, or engineering, or equivalent experience. • 20+ years of experience with multiple large scale implementations of RDBMS and warehouses. • Demonstrated architecture, design and delivery experience in the full lifecycle of data, from sourcing from multiple source systems using ETL and other means, defining data quality KPIs, constructing and implementing data quality rules, logical and physical data modeling, loading into data warehouse, building reporting data marts and constructing BI reports).

     

    • Prior experience with multiple data toolsets (Ab Initio, Informatica, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Cognos, and Business Objects) is required. • Prior experience in Financial Services, preferably in one of the following areas: Enterprise Risk, Compliance and Regulatory Reporting, Finance) is preferred. • Experience with logical and physical data modeling techniques • Experience with very large databases (100+ Gigabytes). • Self-starter with exceptional influence and teamwork skills - This is a position in a matrixed organization, that will require working closely across multiple stakeholders in technology and business. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously • Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate abstract ideas to a broad audience, ranging from highly technical architects and delivery team, business clients and C-level executives • Microsoft Office skills
