    Today's business environment generates vast amounts of data and information, and almost all of this information is captured and stored in computerized form.  AFT helps litigators and investigators understand this electronic data and put it into context.  AFT engagements focus on complex domestic and international litigations and investigations in areas as diverse as SEC Inquiries, M&A Litigation, Corporate Fraud, Class Action Lawsuits, Bankruptcies, Anti-Money Laundering, and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act just to name a few.  Our clients include Fortune 500 companies in the financial services and banking sectors, health care, telecommunications and other industries, as well as many of the most highly regarded law firms in the country.
     
    The Analytic and Forensic Technology - Data Analytics Senior Manager responsibilities include:
    Directing and performing the gathering, standardization, and analysis of voluminous transactional electronic data (e.g., banking records, general ledgers, broker-dealer records, sales and inventory data, etc.)  The candidate must have proven market-building capabilities and extensive experience with advanced and predictive analytics.
     
    AFT-DA Senior Managers can expect to do some or all of the following:
     
    - Create, manage, and utilize high performance relational databases (SQL Server 2008, Oracle 10g, Microsoft Access, OLAP and other proprietary software).
    - Query and mine large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examine financial data and filter for targeted information - using traditional as well as predictive/advanced analytic methodologies.
    - Lead the design and development of user-defined application modules (standard and web-based), perform data quality control, develop database reports and user interfaces, and normalize relational data.
    - Supervise, lead, and train junior associates in the aforementioned activities.
    - Provide input with respect to practice technology initiatives and investments.
    - Define resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, and handle billing and collection processes.
    - Develop and maintain client relationships.
    - Network and negotiate to identify and sell potential new services or expand existing engagements.
    - Prepare and present complex written and verbal materials (reports, findings and presentations).
     
    AFT team members collaborate with attorneys, forensic accountants, clients, andother investigators to produce analyses in support of an investigation.  This is not a "back-office programmer" position; this is front-line client interaction with tremendous opportunity for growth and advancement.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Candidates should have experience mining and analyzing transactional electronic data.  Candidates should also have an undergraduate degree in one or more of the following from an accredited college/university (or significant related employment experience):
     
    1. A dual major/minor combination including Computer Science or Management Information Systems and Business (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Statistics).
    2. Electrical or other related Engineering disciplines.
    3. Management Information Systems.
    4. Mathematics or Statistics.
     
    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is required and competency with any of the following strengthens a Senior Manager's candidacy:
    - Viscovery SOMine
    - Peltarion Synapse
    - NeuroSolutions
    - SAS
    - Algorithms - Self Organizing Maps, Neural Networks, Decision Trees, Na ve Bayes
     
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as demonstrable evidence of effective team leadership, client relationship development, engagement management, and a deep knowledge of anti-fraud/corruption/bribery tools and rule sets.
     
    LOCATION:
    We are seeking Senior Managers to join the AFT practice as part of our Data Analytics group in New York City.
