SUMMARY: The successful applicant will serve as primary support for the enterprise BI infrastructure and applications across multiple environments including non-production, staging and production. Incumbent must be a strong team player and will work with members from multiple teams on a daily basis including, but not limited to, Systems Services , Enterprise Applications and various other business units within the company. This position requires the ability to work in a demanding IBM BI environment with multiple simultaneous deliverables and in-depth knowledge and experience with installing, configuring, administrating, troubleshooting, maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, develop and tuning of the BI environments. The successful candidate will be expected to assimilate business requirements, corporate standards, as well as, industry best practices in delivering solutions to internal customers and projects.
Responsibilities: 1. Design the technical architecture, Installation, migration, configuration, maintenance, technical support and troubleshooting of BI implementations in a shared environment Design, develop and be able to guide others in the generation of reports and dashboards using various BI components. 2. Participate in and contribute to the implementation of best industry practices for IBM BI Contribute to architecture and capacity planning activities Conduct performance tuning and capacity management3. Implement patches and other day-to-day BI administration tasks Work with IT and business users to resolve support and technical questions Provide support to the business community in leveraging the BI platform The individual should be a team player that can communicate effectively and solve complex problems with minimal direction. 4. Plan and execute infrastructure changes and upgrades with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities (cont) 5. Contribute to coordination and planning of BI related activities Provide 24x7 on call support as necessary to resolve technical problems and meet established service level agreements. 6. Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing for supported applications. 7. Write and maintain Technical design documents and Technical Recovery Guides for supported infrastructures requiring Disaster Recovery Plans.
Qualifications
Requirements: 10+ years of BI Development, implementation and administration of IBM BI Candidate should have significant hands-on technical experience and expertise in installing, deploying and supporting UNIX (Solaris & AIX) based BI environments. Strong knowledge of and experience implementing and Integrating IBM BI security using LDAP, BI Security components and 3rd party security modules. Detailed knowledge of IBM BI architecture Knowledge of and experience using the IBM BI suite of products. Practical experience on Java script, Unix shell Script, MDL Script and BMT Scripting. Good understanding of Apache Tomcat, WebLogic and IBM WebSphere as it relates to the IBM BI infrastructure Working knowledge and Good understanding of various database platforms, including Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata & Sybase IQ. Experience in software and application packaging.
Requirements (cont) Working knowledge of internet technologies like IBM SDK,SOAP, XML, web services and Java Familiarity with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and familiarity with Change Management and Promotion to Test / Production processes are needed. Attend application related meetings to provide leadership regarding BI Infrastructure standards and requirements Good communication skills.Education Qualification: Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in computer science.
