Innovative global e-commerce company seeks an accounting manager who will work closely with the VP Finance/ Controller in developing and building the finance infrastructure of this exciting business.

Responsibilities:

• Document existing financial systems and suggest and implement improvements
• Investigate new accounting software, select and implement selected system together with IT department and outside consultants
• Research accounting issues to insure compliance with GAAP
• Manage billing and accounts payable personnel
• Work with outside auditors on annual audit
• Manage relationship with external accounting firm
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Work on annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts
• Prepare quarterly financial presentations for Board
• Review preparation of tax returns
• Measure financial and operating performance of divisions and departments
• Prepare, monitor, analyze and report monthly operating results against budget/forecast
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package
• Daily cash management
• Special projects on an ad hoc basis

Requirements:

• CPA required
• At least 3 years experience working at an accounting firm, Big 5 preferred
• Experience in all aspects of accounting-- general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge
• Knowledge of dealing in multi-currency operations preferred
• Strong people skills as position requires interfacing with many departments within the organization
• Knowledge of online billings systems a strong plus
• Very strong problem solving and analytical skills required
• Proficient knowledge of accounting and financial systems, including Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• E-commerce and/or online subscription experience a plus
• Experience working in a start-up, entrepreneurial environment a plus
