Job Description:
The successful applicant will be involved at the forefront of financial product initiatives in areas where the client is the industry leader. He or she will integrate with the Equities program as a technical team lead and oversee a new technology team working hand in hand with product leaders and supporting a multi site, global, data business(teams located in Sing/London/NY) with exciting new product plans and ambitious revenue growth plans for the business. The role spans the entire project lifecycle, with a focus on technical excellence from the project inception to its delivery:
- Requirement gathering;
- Technical design;
- Development;
- Component test; and
- Technical test.
The role will be to head the 7 strong US technical team and report to the Head of Technology in UK. This role will involve facing off to business stakeholder on a daily basis and therefore requires strong interpersonal skills. Additional key responsibilities are listed below:
- Business requirements: participating in business reqs meetings and defining Markit’s future technical architecture
- Technical design: using UML to model the required functionality in its entire depth and ensure industry best practices / design patterns are followed
- Development: providing thought leadership in the area of WPF and implementing technical designs.
- Component test: ensuring all deliverables and test artefacts are produced on time, reviewing the code to verify that quality standards are met, pushing our testing to the highest degree of automation.
- Technical test: specifying performance, resilience and operability tests to ensure the system is supporting the business moving forward. Capacity planning.
