Job Description
Top rated Boston employer is seeking an accomplished GAAP accountant with strong external reporting experience. Prior experience with the preparation or review of 10-K, 10-Q and other external reports is central to this hire.
A Senior to Manager level profile out of a large public accounting firm would be attractive; as would a blend of public and industry with an appropriate mix of external reporting and technical accounting experience. Project management experience and team leadership is important, as this position has 2 financial reporting analysts reporting to it.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead GAAP reporting and preparation of disclosures
- Presenting recommendations to senior management.
- Visible contributor to the enhancement and enforcement of new or established accounting / reporting procedures.
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of reported results.
- Identifying control weaknesses and propose counter measures.
- Identify process inefficiencies and formulate / present alternatives to senior management.
- Responsible for assigned staff’s skills development and period performance reviews.
Qualifications:
- MS Accounting or a CPA is required.
- 5 plus years of experience with demonstrated GAAP / SEC reporting is required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with visibility to senior management including hihg impact policy, procedures and disclosure discussions.
