Job Description
Electronic Trading Data is looking for a Business Analyst to join a highly motivated, business-focused technology team to work closely with trading floor business partners, developers, associated technology teams and production support to develop and enhance cutting edge electronic trading systems to meet new business opportunities as well as regulatory and mandatory changes. The role involves building and maintaining relationships between business and technology groups, developing an understanding of business objectives and applications and taking projects from initiation to delivery while providing a high level of transparency across disciplines to key business and technology stakeholders.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience working in a Business Analyst capacity role in the Finance industry (ideally in a front office electronic trading environment).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Work with business partners, sales traders and quantitative developers to gather and refine business requirements
- Communicate technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms when working with business partners / application users
- Collaborate with staff in technology, trading and quantitative analytics to build strong technical processes and solutions
- Manage work flow to deliver quality work in a timely manner
- Coordinate project objectives and timelines
- Explain and interpret project procedures and requirements
- Work closely with QA group to develop test plans and track defects to resolution
- Maintain, create, and enhance existing business and system documentation
- Maintain, create, and enhance documentation used in compliance and legal documentation
- Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Job Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills essential in order to gather requirements and build accurate and effective documentation. Translate between technical and business domains/nomenclatures.
- Attention to detail including follow-through and demonstrating initiative to find solutions
- A team player who can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent written skills to address audiences at various levels
- Must be able to communicate with technology professionals and clients in a professional manner
- Must be able to navigate successfully across the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and other documentation/knowledge base environments.
- Competent in a technical environment
- Former development experience (K/Q, Java, C/C++, Perl, etc.) a plus
- Ability to navigate in a technical environment – Object modeling, Linux, shell, XML, SQL
- In-depth knowledge of real-time market data and the FIX Protocol a plus
- Series 7/63 or equivalent, Equities and Derivatives knowledge, Compliance rules a plus
