JOB DESCRIPTION:
My client currently has a position in their growing Financial services practice for a Senior Manager of Technical review in the companys techincal accounting group. The technical accounting group is responsible for delivering filings on time, reviewing all documents prior to external distribution. As a Senior Manager of Technical review you should have expertise in financial instruments, hedge funds, private equity and broker-dealers and will work in the areas of technical consultation, pre-issuance financial statement review, and technical updates on new accounting issues. You will also work with Partners in our Financial Services practice who are industry leaders in providing strategic guidance in and interpreting accounting and audit guidance around issues affecting the Financial Services Industry.
- Assist with monitoring and researching guidlines and ensuring new accouting, auditing, and regulatory issues are handled appropriately.
- Collaborate with other members of the Technical Review Team to further understand how developments and new pronouncements affect their clients.
- Identify audit and accounting issues, current practices, and alternative solutions to issues that affect the financial services industry.
- Monitor and research activities of standard establishing bodies, as well as, keeping abreast of new accounting, auditing, regulatory and business developments in the financial services industry.
This position has the potential to move up to a Partner role in the future.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required Skills
- Stong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
- Strong research skills and ability to decipher and interpret accounting and audit pronoucements
- Strong oral and written communication skills with above average writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Confident technical writing approach
- Knowledge of derivatives and complex financial services instruments
- Expertise with hedge funds, private equity and broker dealers
- Valuation of financial services instruments
Required Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA license preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of public accounting experience with a concentration in Financial Services
