Deloitte & Touche LLP is looking to add Senior Managers to the team for delivering credit consulting services in the U.S. The candidate should be skilled in assessing credit risk and implementing processes to strengthen credit underwriting, policies, reporting, and loan loss reserve methodology and accounting. The candidate should possess the following experience:
- Commercial lending underwriting, credit monitoring, loan review, regulatory examination experience (or combinations of these) with broad experience in lending including syndicated loans, asset based loans, commercial real estate secured loans
- Ability to assess credit policies, risk rating systems, risk reporting, underwriting and monitoring practices of various financial institutions
- Knowledge of and ability to apply accounting concepts such as FAS 5, FAS 114 (identification and measurement of loan impairment), non-accrual and troubled debt restructures.
- Ability to articulate requirements for risk reporting needs related to a variety of loan exposures
- Understanding and working knowledge of typical commercial loan underwriting criteria
- Knowledge of loan loss reserving practices is very important.
Job Duties:
- Understand clients' business environment and complex compliance management approaches
- Lead and execute compliance assessments based upon understanding the client's business, applicable rules to that business, and then assessing compliance with such
- Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support service offering or industry projects
- Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions
- Generate observations and recommendations based upon applicable rules and successful business practices in order to assist the clients effectively meet its regulatory responsibilities
- Execute advanced services and supervise engagement teams in delivering complex services
- Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo
- Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services
- Play substantive/lead role in engagement planning, economics, and billing
- Play substantive role in the training and development of staff through on the job training
- Evaluate, counsel, mentor and provide feedback on performance of others
- Play substantive/lead role in retention of professionals and in building staff complement, mix, and recruiting
- Play substantive role in enhancing relationships with Deloitte Audit, Tax and Consulting professionals
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell other services
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, Deloitte products and service lines
- Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations
- Understand clients' business environment and complex risk management approaches
- Identify, lead, and participate in proposal development efforts and closing sales opportunities
- Identify and lead "add-on" and new sales efforts
- Proactive leadership of market development initiatives
- Proactive leadership of industry driven activities
- Membership and visibility in professional & civic organizations
- Play substantive/lead role in developing a strong relationship with internal Deloitte Resources
- Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in commercial lending and may have banking, regulatory agency experience or both
- Knowledge of loan loss reserving practices is very important.
- Executive presence and ability to effectively communicate (both oral and written) with executive level client management and Deloitte colleague
- Ability to effectively manage small and large for teams (on site and remotely)
- Ability to estimate and effectively manage project budgets and team composition needed to address a particular project
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities in the market and contribute to business development efforts (external conferences, assistance with industry updates etc.)
- Travel is required
