Job Description
My client, a top tier Wall Street investment firm is seeking their Senior Manager for their Legal Entity Accounting & Disclosure Group. Responsibilities will include gaining an understanding of the firm’s securitized products, mortgage, lending and structured credit business in order to assist in producing and analyzing many of the division’s financial accounting disclosures. The LEAD (Legal Entity Accounting & Disclosure) group is one of the core functional groups within Business Control Group which is responsible for the production, review and analysis of accounting disclosures affecting both the fixed income and equity division. The group is also responsible for reviewing and analyzing complex financial instruments to assess the impact on the firm’s financial statements Principal Responsibilities: Assist with the quarterly/monthly financial statement disclosure (FIN45, FIN46, FAS140, FAS149…etc) preparations for the Credit Products. Coordinate with Accounting Policy and Business Unit Controllers to apply new accounting pronouncements (i.e. FASB 161) and additional disclosures required by senior management (especially around credit markets). Liaise with Accounting Policy and Business Unit Controller teams to implement the firm’s accounting policy to new and complex transactions. Coordinate with Valuation, Business Unit Controllers and Business Unit teams to go through FAS140 “Securitization” key assumptions and results. Coordinate with the product controllers and corporate reporting in the preparation of Commitments disclosures. Analyze changes in business and market and their accounting disclosure impacts on a monthly basis by interacting with the product controllers. Assist in standardizing and improving the disclosure preparation process across credit businesses. Requirements: BS or BA in Finance and/or Accounting, an advanced degree is a plus - 5-7 years of experience in Public Accounting and/or financial services industry. Credit Products (Credit Derivatives and Securitizations) knowledge is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access) Ability to interact well with others at all levels. Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills. Strong communication, organizational and time management skills. Strong sense of teamwork. Ability to handle and resolve recurring challenges / problems.
