Job Description
Associate Director Title- -The candidate will have a primary reporting line to the regional Accounting Policy team leader and be responsible for providing Accounting Policy theory and application in both IFRS (Primary GAAP) and US GAAP. Some knowledge of Swiss GAAP and Risk Based Capital would also be preferable, although not mandatory.
-Specifically, the candidate will be expected to support the team in the following areas -Perform research and analysis to support the function’s role within TRPA / NBI, enabling the group to ensure that trades/products receive the attention necessary to reach accurate and timely conclusions. This will involve review of structured transactions and new products in the context of the Group’s primary reporting regimes (IFRS, US GAAP and Swiss GAAP), including consideration of counterparty’s motivations and associated potential reputational risks.
-Participate in interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards. Establish working groups across the different BUC and control functions to vet developing technical accounting issues and assist in the execution of new policies as they arise, bringing in expertise from other Accounting Policies and Support team members from the other regions as required. -Provide advice on ad hoc technical accounting issues, interfacing with a broad audience, including senior personnel from the front office, BUC, finance and risk functions. -Provide additional level of technical support to facilitate the team’s presence and influence in local Banking and Investment Banking Committees. -Participate in the design and execution of technical accounting training for IB Finance function, covering both new and existing requirements. -Support discussion of local accounting policy issues with internal/external auditors
–The candidate will have significant influence on the development of the Accounting Policy function and the range of services that can be offered. The candidate needs to be self starting, highly motivated and flexible, in terms of the role they provide.
Requirements : -Undergraduate degree in Accounting with Honors -4-6 years in public accounting -CPA/CA
