DNB First traces its origins to September 3, 1860 when the Downingtown Bank was organized under the General Banking Law of Pennsylvania to meet the needs of its local community.
The first president of the Bank, Charles Downing, was a descendent of one of the Quaker families that settled the area in the late 1730's and for whom the Borough of Downingtown is named.
Today DNB First is the oldest independent bank located in Chester County, and it remains strategically located in the heart of one of the most dynamic growth areas in Pennsylvania.
