Factory Point National Bank was chartered in 1883 and located in the bustling center for manufacturing and trade that was then called Factory Point and later became Manchester Center, Vermont. The doors of the new bank, "an attractive as well as convenient place for doing business," were officially opened on January 14, 1884. Six months later the directors voted to increase the capital stock to $75,000 to accommodate accelerating growth.
