When the Farmers & Merchants Bank was chartered by a group of local businessmen in 1946, Tulsa was the "oil capital of the world", gushing with the excitement of a city destined to grow and expand. Commerce was thriving in oil, aviation, and water. The Arkansas River Basin development made Tulsa one of the first inland port cities in the United States.
In the Oklahoma pioneering spirit, the founders established a bank that was devoted to Tulsa and its citizens' success. Deposits grew at a rapid pace and F&M opened the city's first successful drive-in banking facility. Since its inception nearly 60 years ago, F&M Bank & Trust Company has taken pride in its leadership role in the growth and development of Tulsa.
